Hi, I'm Sammy

Welcome to the Almondsbury American Cockers

website

Almondsbury American Cockers were established in 1980,in Bristol, England, UK, when we were showing our first & to date only Black & Tan cocker. In 1981, we obtained our first black & white, having fallen for the parti coloured variety in a big way. His name was Ballantrae Dandiman at Almondsbury, a son of the late Dreamridge Delegate.

Our first tri coloured arrived in 1987, called Mygilie Double Diamond at Almondsbury who attained his Junior Warrant, Stud Book number, plus many other wins at both Championship & Open shows. His winning ways continued into his twilight years, winning Veteran dog at Cruft's twice & winning many Best Veteran in show awards. Also, he competed in agility & was part of a prize winning mini team at the Chippenham Agility Show along with our other black & white, Mygilie Diamond White at Almondsbury.

1991, saw the arrival of Mygilie Diamond Blush at Almondsbury our first Red & White, (favourite colour). Ryan is featured on the photo's page & also won his Junior Warrant & Stud Book number, plus Best in show & Best puppy in show at several open shows. Ryan has competed in Agility & retired from this sport at the age of 11. He continued to win in veteran classes & was shown at Cruft's for 11 years!!! Our next red & white Rosko did well in the ring as a youngster but then decided showing wasn't for him so he took up agility instead & participated in several agility open shows. Our next tri, Joseph also decided after 2 successful years that showing wasn't his forte & prefers the great outdoors & is adept at catching birds & wildlife.  Our first Champion, Jacob was crowned in 2003 followed by our second champion Toby in 2006. In 2006 we acquired Jacob's daughter Daisy who hopefully will start the Almondsbury parti line.  Bev gives CC's in American Cockers & thoroughly enjoys judging all breeds. In 2008 we tried our luck at the Munster Circuit in Ireland and returned with 3 Green Stars. In 2009 we attended the Eurodog show in Dublin. Toby is now a fully trained agility dog and at Easter 2012 attended his first UKA agility show. He has now won a 1st place.

In 2010 we were thrilled to breed our first litter, all tri's and the proud parents were Daisy & Sammy. Now in 2011 our second litter by Toby were born, again all tri's. Will Herbie follow in Toby's pawsteps & show an aptitude for agility?Yes he has and has competed in agility and won a second place. Almondsbury Flamboyant sired his first litter in 2012 & 2 pups have made their mark in the ring. Herbie has also sired a litter, all tri's.
